Snowmobiling
Warrensburg has a nice snowmobile trail system on which one can travel throughout the countryside, into other nearby towns and beyond. Snowmobile trails are well groomed and are part of the North Warren Trail System.

There is NO FEE to use Warren County Snowmobile trails however Snowmobiles need to be registered in New York State to use the trails.
- Trail Access and Parking -
Access: There are a few snowmobile access points in Warrensburg most of which are off main roads. The main access points are off Rt. 9 and can be seen from the roadway. Another access point is from Echo Lake, off Hudson Street. There’s also access off Rt. 418, just before the bridge to Thurman on Hickory Hill Road, the access road to the Hickory Ski center (see link for more info @ http://www.thurmanconnection.com
Parking: There are two (2) parking areas that allow both parking for vehicles and their trailers and access to the Warren County Snowmobile Trail system. One is at the Echo Lake Lodge, off Hudson Street and the other one is at the Lucky Star Restaurant, just north of the Hamlet on Rt. 9.
- Registration / Licenses -
Snowmobiles need to be registered in NYS to use the trails...NYS registration is $100.

Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
Warrensburg offers cross-country ski trails in three beautiful settings (two of which also allow snowshoeing). Below is a listing of locations / access points and parking areas:
- Pack Forest -
Located at 136 Pack Forest Road – Just a few miles north of the Hamlet, off Rt. 9
Pack Forest offers both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on scenic, wooded forest trails and an 85 acre lake. http://www.dec.ny.gov/education/1875.html
- Lake George Wild Forest / Hudson River Recreation Area -
Located off Golf Course Road – Look for sign & parking lot (near Cronin’s Golf Resort)
This area offers a two mile novice trail and a 3.5 mile intermediate to expert Nordic trail. Trails run through the wooded, nature trail park and Cronin’s Golf Course with scenic views of the Hudson River. http://www.warrencountydpw.com/Parks_Rec07/X_Ski.htm
- Hackensack Mountain Park -
Located off Sunset Avenue / Prospect Street intersections – Look for sign & parking lot [Note location – Not available at Hackensack Avenue access point]
This park offers both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at base of mountain trail
