NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW ESTABLISHING MORATORIUM ON NEW COMMERCIAL [RETAIL] DEVELOPMENT IN MAIN STREET AREA OF WARRENSBURG HISTORIC DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Warrensburg Town Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Warrensburg Firehouse, 18 Elm Street, Warrensburg, New York, concerning proposed Local Law No. 6 of 2021. Local Law No. 6 would establish a moratorium on new commercial [retail] development within the Main Street area of the Warrensburg Historic District for approximately one year. The moratorium would not prevent maintenance, improvement, renovation, expansion or demolition of existing structures. The area subject to the moratorium would be located on both sides of Main Street/Route 9 extending North from a southern boundary of the “Plank Road Bridge” at the municipal boundary of the Town of Warrensburg and the Town of Lake George to the intersection with Third Avenue as its northern boundary. The purpose of the moratorium is to allow the Town of Warrensburg Boards the opportunity to review and update the Town Code and Comprehensive Plan as appropriate for the current times, including analysis of where new commercial [retail] growth is most appropriate and possible extension of the Main Street Historic District. A copy of proposed Local Law No. 6 is on file and available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office, Emerson Memorial Town Hall, 3797 Main Street, Warrensburg, New York, during normal business hours.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that at the time and place of the Public Hearing all
interested persons will be given an opportunity to comment on proposed Local Law No. 6 of 2021.
Pamela Lloyd
Town Clerk
